JAN'S
STORY

Jan Partington started her art career from humble beginnings. As a little girl she would save empty pickle and jam jars and paint flowers on them. To preserve her creations she would paint the flowers with clear nail polish.

As she grew older, Jan's creative journey lead her to well known Adelaide artist Margaret Dixon who introduced her to the finer points of china painting.

Raised paste gold was the next part of her journey under the tutelage of Fay Good.

Jan then switched to using oils under the keen eye of Sarah McDonald.

She was keen to explore different mediums and attended several workshops by Joseph Zubich from Melbourne.

Jan has dabbled in charcoals, life drawing and is currently inspired to create amazing semi abstract pieces that delight and intrigue.

She has always had a love of flowers and many wonderful varieties feature in her art.
